When I found out that Mary Latu was going to be having a combined birthday party for her three girls, I knew instantly that I wanted to make matching dresses. I decided to use left over material from the costumes I made for the BYU Luau in 2010.
I made this for Amy Taula's first baby girl, Hi'ilei. My mom and I tried to look for pink material or something girlie, but we fell in ove with this color and print, we just had to get it. I made this dress and flower with the left over material. Again, I am obsessed with ruffles.
I've been obsessed with ruffles lately and I've been wanting to make a ruffle dress for a long time. I finally did it, and I love the way it turned out. It was a little more complicated than I expected and there are definitely things I would do differently the next time around. Nonetheless here it is! Material was $5 a yd and I bought two yards of it, so my dress came out to $10! Love it!
After going to Seven Peaks Water park several times and counting at least 4 girls who had on my exact bathing suit, I decided it was time to get a new one. Finding the right bathing suit is always hard, they're either too expensive or something is just wrong with the cut...so I decided to take on the challenge of making one. I like it, mostly because I know no one else will have it!
