An Old Project

I was going through old pictures on my computer and I found a lot of treasures. This one in particular was of a sectional David and I bought when we first got married. We found it at a garage sale for $20 (the saler was desperate to get rid of it!). I was not too fond of the color but when I sat down on it, I was sold. It was super DUDERLY soft and comfortable. So we bought it and with the help of my SIL, we reupholstered it, and make it look like new!

Here are BEFORE pictures. (you can see the ugly blueish green color)

AFTER: We've had the sectional for about four years now and it is still just as soft and comfortable as it was when we first bought it but I am ready to reupholster it again because it needs a facelift.

My handsome boys.

David likes to tease me that I sew for everyone and their mother and that I never make him anything. He seems to have forgotten about his green quilt and aloha shirt. Whatever. Anyways, for Christmas this year I decided to make him and Ngatoa matching pajama pants. They sure look pretty darn cute if I do say so myself.

David wouldn't let me take hundreds of pictures of him in his pajamas like Ngatoa would. Ngatoa loved the attention =)...as if i dont give him enough during the day.

I don't make very many boy clothes but when I do, Ngatoa will be my official male model!

Everybody loves Bob Marley!

This is Marley.

Kristi Suguturaga took our family pictures last year and did a FABULOUS job. As a thank you I made this dress for her daughter and ties for her sons. I decided on reggae colors because I knew (judging from Kristi's family pictures) that they are Bob Marley fans. I was so happy when they came to church sporting their new outfits and I was even more thrilled that the dress fit!

The little pink dress.

I made this dress for cousin Melinda Logan...she had her first girl!!! Every girl needs a pink dress... with ruffles =)

I added eyelet to the belt at the last minute.

Dad's Birthday

I made my dad these ties for his birthday. I learned a new way of making them so I was able to sew them in half the time!

My little helper

Actually he doesn't help me at all, he prohibits me from doing any kind of sewing. He likes to pull out needles, climb on my lap while I'm trying to sew and walk all over any material I have laid out on the floor. It's impossible to work on any project with him around which is why I have to sew while is he asleep. But he sure is cute sporting that scrap material from my newly made cardigan that I o so love!

One pattern...two dresses.

So remember the dresses I made for Tia Pope's bridemaids?? well the pattern grew on me and I decided to make a dress for myself, using material I bought at the LA fabric district $1 a yard!! This dress required about 1 1/2 yards so it cost me about $1.50 and 3 hours to make!! Sounds like a bargain to me!!
